Pettit
Short Track and New Long Track Development Teams
Now finishing its second season, the Pettit Center's
Short Track Team has experienced tremendous success.
Not only have the number of team members nearly
doubled, the skaters are succeeding on the local,
regional, national and international levels. Most
notably, Charles Leveille participated as a member
of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Team. Interestingly,
because the Pettit Center program provides both
short track and long track skating opportunities,
Leveille was able to qualify for the long track
team. Without the Pettit Center Short Track Team
experience, Charles would never have realized
his Olympic dream. Now he has set his goal even
higher: Making the long track AND short track
Olympic teams in 2010.
If you have a dream of becoming a short track or long track skater, the Pettit Center program – under the direction of Coach Tony Goskowicz – is the place for you.
Pettit Center Speed Skating Development Teams Feature:
• Experienced Coach – Tony Goskowicz, 1994 U.S. Short Track Olympian and former U.S. National Team coach

• Housing in close proximity (walk or bike) to the Pettit Center
• Weight room/work-out facility on site
