Memorial: Warren Kellermann
Warren
E. Kellermann
Born in Milwaukee, WI on Feb. 17, 1924
Passed away Oct. 2, 2006 and resided in West Allis,
WI.
Of West Allis, WI. Passed into God's care on October
2, 2006, at the age of 82. He has found an everlasting
place in the heart of his loving wife, Lee (Champion),
and his children, Terry (Jim) Lewandowski, Nicki
(Dick) Hein and Ned (Sue). Guardian angel to his
grandsons, Matthew (Amy) Gerber, Adam (Jennifer)
Gerber, Aaron Gerber, Steve (Nicole) Pipito, Dean
(Angela) Pipito, and "poppa" to Maggie
Lee. A devoted great-grandpa to Autumn, Ashlyn
and Reagan. Brother-in-law to Lois Hart, and uncle
to Susan (Bob) Humphrey and Ross (Linda).
Warren was born in 1924 to Erven "Murphy"
and Lillian Kellermann. He proudly served his
country in the United States Army during World
War II. After the war he met Lee, his partner
for life. They shared 58 years together. Warren
retired after many years as the reservoir operator
for the City of West Allis Water Dept.
He was past president of the West Allis Speedskating
Club, and instrumental in keeping the outdoor
Olympic Ice Rink operating until the Pettit Center
was opened. He was the proud recipient of the
George Howie Memorial Award for years of dedicated
service to the sport of speedskating. Warren volunteered
for 40 years as a timer for local, national and
world
competitions. His sense of humor will be missed
by all of his "timing buddies," and
his kindness will be missed by the many young
people he influenced over the years.
A celebration of Warren's life and a private graveside
service was held on October 5. The family requests
that anyone wishing to give memorials to the Memorial
Fund for Warren E. Kellermann do so in the care
of Atty. Dan Werlein, 7635 W. Bluemound Rd., Wauwatosa,
WI 53226.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention
of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved
body, But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly
used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow,
what a ride!!!"
