Basic skating skills are the foundation of success in hockey. With that in mind, the Pettit Center recommends that children who have never skated before begin their hockey experience with basic skating instruction. The Hockey Skills 1-5 levels below can start your skater on the correct path to a fun and successful time on the hockey ice!

Hockey Tots

Ages 4-5 - $80

This class is designed for those ages 4-5 with little or no skating experience that have hockey on the brain.  Class participants will learn the basics of skating with and without their hockey sticks including falling and getting up, marching, 2-foot glides, stopping and more.  The focus will be on skating skills and not the actual game of hockey.  Although this is a hockey geared class it is always recommended for new skaters to begin in figure skates and change to hockey skates once a solid sense of balance has been established.  Graduates of this class will continue on into the Hockey Skills 1-5 series.

Session V: April 15 - May 23

Sundays April 15 - May 20 6-6:40pm**
Tuesdays April 17 - May 22 5:45-6:25pm**
Wednesdays April 18 - May 23 5:45-6:25pm**

**10 minutes of supervised practice time will be added into the class time at the end of each class.
