The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Facility, is proud to announce the recent success of the Wisconsin Edge Synchronized Ice Skating teams
The 2006 Synchronized Ice Skating Sectional Championships were held this past weekend in Michigan. This Sectional is the highest level competition for most of the synchronized divisions and the qualifying competition for divisions that go on to the United States National Championships. Once again, teams from Wisconsin Edge conquered the skating field.
The Pre-Juvenile team scored a first place finish in the qualifying round and then went on to win a gold medal in the championship round. The Open Junior team sparkled at the Michigan competition by going undefeated and taking home the gold medal as well. The Wisconsin Edge Intermediate team won a silver medal in the championships and is now off to the U.S. Nationals.
The Intermediate team will be representing the state of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Edge at the United States Figure Skating National Championships at the end of February. With their fiery spirit and drive, the Wisconsin Edge has skated magnificently this season and looks to keep their momentum as they glide into the National Championships.

Synchronized Ice Skating is a fast-growing discipline of figure skating. It is a highly technical form characterized by speed, accuracy, intricate formations and breathtaking transitions performed by teams of 8 to 20 athletes moving as “one”.
