Pettit Summer Camps Back By Popular Demand

Summer has come again, which means it is time for the Pettit National Ice Center summer camps!  Children can enjoy fun activities on and off the ice, plus skating instruction by camp counselors.

Summer camp week long sessions begin June 15 and run through August 28.  Camps are open to children ages 6 to 12 years old.  You can choose from different skating camps or a hockey camp.  Half day and full day camps are available.

Campers will enjoy Kohl’s Healthy Kids programs presented by Children’s Health Education Center.  These activities will include games such as soccer, broomball, floor hockey, and more.  They will also learn about how to keep their bodies healthy for life!

Hockey camps are open to all skaters of all skill levels.  They will be able to take part in hockey skill sessions, monitored scrimmages, and even an evaluation from a Pettit hockey coach.  They will also receive a Pettit hockey practice jersey, Pettit Center magnet or sticker, and one free pick-up hockey session pass.

Along with the regular skating camp offered, the Pettit is offering two special camps as well.  Shake n’ Skate allows campers the opportunity to learn pom pon routines taught by Badgerette instructors.  Each camper will receive a special Shake n’ Skate T-shirt along with two public skating passes and a Pettit Center magnet or sticker.

I Feel the Need for Speed is offered to campers who already know how to skate.  This camp provides campers the chance to learn speed skating basics and off-ice Olympic training techniques.

All campers for all skating camps are provided with a Pettit Center camp T-shirt, two public skating passes, and a Pettit Center magnet or sticker.  For more details on summer camps at the Pettit, visit www.thepettit.com.
