Club Takes Fourth in Madison Open

The Pettit National Ice Center is proud to welcome back a large group of successful skaters to their home ice. This past weekend skaters from both Wisconsin Figure Skating Club (WFSC) and the Pettit competed in the Annual Madison Open. The Wisconsin Figure Skating Club took an impressive fourth place finish in Madison competing against 28 figure skating clubs from five different states. The Pettit National Ice Center is proud to announce its six first place finishes.

The following is a detailed list of the top placing skaters:

**Victoria Bellanti 1st Place, Beginner Compulsory Moves
**Elizabeth Dzwierzynksi 1st Place, Pre Preliminary Compulsory Moves
**Meghan Heerey 1st Place, Pre Juvenile Spins
**Annmarie Herman 1st Place, Pre Preliminary High Free Skate
**Stacey Leonard 1st Place, Pre Juvenile Spins
**Nanoha Sato

1st Place, Intermediate Short Program, Intermediate
Free Skate, and Intermediate Championship

“We are very proud of all of the skaters that competed in the Madison Open, from those who placed first to those that laced up their skates,” said Lisa Reid, the Pettit’s co-skating director. “Some great performances by many skaters and top-level effort from everyone really shows how strong this area and this facility are for figure skating!”

10-year-old Nanoho Sato of New Berlin swept the competition just weeks after her recent triumph of the Intermediate Ladies Championship at the 2003 DuPage Open in Illinois. Sato leaves for Japan on Thursday (9/25) to compete in her native land with hopes of continuing her winning ways over seas. Sato has remarkable talent and holds great expectations to compete in the 2010 Olympics Winter Games in Vancouver.

The Pettit National Ice Center is a year-round training facility for not only Sato, but also the Wisconsin Figure Skating Club members and other Pettit figure skaters.
