Beat The Heat With The Pettit National Ice Center
With many public pools closing early this summer, it’s good to know there still is a great alternative to beat the heat—The Pettit National Ice Center! The Pettit is open all year ‘round and provides patrons with a cool haven that is 55 degrees every single day.
Any day this week the general public can come and skate on the Pettit’s Olympic sized oval from 7pm-9pm and from 7pm-10pm on Friday. What better way to cool off than by gliding along a ¼ mile long sheet of ice?! Looking for an escape during the day? The Pettit also offers public skating the entire week from 11am-1pm, perfect for the kids who think it is just too hot to play outside!
“Get out of that hot Wisconsin sun and join us on the ice at the Coolest Place In Town! How can you NOT stay cool here at the Pettit?” asks Tom Zienkiewicz, the Pettit’s hockey director.
There is also pick-up hockey at the Pettit every day this entire week at 7pm. The Skating School and the Learn to Skate programs will be kicking off September 2nd.
