Beat The Heat This Summer At The Pettit National Ice Center

Summer officially began on Tuesday, and with it came scorching temperatures that would make anyone run for shade and a cool alternative. The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Facility, is the perfect remedy to another hot Wisconsin summer.

There’s public skating everyday at the Pettit Center. Come in and beat the heat on the Pettit’s Olympic Oval while getting some exercise and having fun at the same time. With a constant 55-degree temperature, a public skating session is always cool for you!

To help Wisconsin stay cool, anytime this summer when the thermometer reads 80 degrees or more, public skating is just $1. Beat the heat with this sizzling summer special for only $1!

Through July 3, the US Speedskating National Long Track team will be training at the Pettit Center in preparation for the upcoming skating season and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. The US Team trains multiple times this week on the Pettit’s ice.

The Pettit Center is also a perfect place for kids this summer. The Pettit Skating School is just underway and summer is a great time to learn how to skate. The Pettit Skating Camp for Kids, where kids stay happy, healthy and active goes on each week of summer and is loaded with skating instruction, Olympic-themed activities and more fun than the average summer day at home. The developing hockey player can get on the ice and keep skating with the Pettit Rink Rat Camp, with a focus on skill development and most importantly, fun!
