Olympic Training Camp For Kids Now Open
The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Facility, is hosting 6- to 12 year-old spring breakers at the first-ever Olympic Training Camp for Kids. The camp kicked off Monday, April 12 and will go through Friday, April 16.
A healthy and active alternative to traditional spring break activities, the Olympic Training Camp for Kids is a special offering geared to introducing youth to a variety of sports including hockey, figure and speed skating. The camp encourages age-appropriate athletic activity, both on and off the ice, in a fun and safe environment with a focus on fun.
Campers will learn about the Pettit’s Olympic heritage – fostering eight Olympic medal winners – through unique games and crafts designed to please all ages. With no weather worries, campers can partake in many activities that inspire general fitness.
“The Olympic Training Camp for Kids is a perfect opportunity for youngsters to sample a variety of ice sports,” said Gino Cavallini, the Pettit’s Vice President of Programming.
The Olympic Training Camp for Kids concludes Friday with a very special medal ceremony. The Training Camps for Kids will be held throughout the summer beginning June 14 and continuing through August 27.
