Shamrock Shootout Coming Soon
The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Facility, is all set, ready and raring to go, as it will play host to the 2004 Shamrock Shootout Youth Hockey Tournament this weekend. The Tournament begins this Friday at 4pm and will conclude with division championship games on Sunday.
38 teams and over 700 youth hockey players will take part in the annual tournament, making this year’s Shamrock Shootout the largest ever in it’s seven (7) year history. A definite Midwest regional tournament, teams from Michigan, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin will flood into the Pettit Center making it “Hockey Central”.
The Shamrock has grown so much this year that two other local rinks will be utilized to make the tournament go even smoother. Teams will also take to the ice sheets of Eble Park in Brookfield, University School in River Hills and of course the U.S. Olympic Training Facility resting aside I-94.
The Shamrock Shootout is a fun-filled weekend for everyone involved, skaters, coaches and parents alike. Not only do teams get the chance to take part in one of their favorite competitions of the year, but they also take in the many sights and sounds of the local Milwaukee area.
The 2004 Shamrock Shootout’s first puck drops on Friday March 19, at 4:00 p.m. with games continuing all night until 11:30 p.m. The hockey extravaganza continues on Saturday, March 20, with games from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and goes on through Sunday, March 21 with championship games ending at 6:00 p.m.
