The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S Olympic Training Site, is proud to announce the success of several figure skaters who will be competing at the United States Junior National Figure Skating Championships.

This marks the first time that multiple skaters from the Milwaukee area have qualified for U.S. Junior Nationals.

Mackenzie Reid, 11 years old from Brookfield, Wisconsin and Christian Erwin, 14 years old from Elm Grove, Wisconsin, will be competing at the U.S. Junior National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, November 28 - December 2, 2006.    Reid and Erwin will be competing in ice dancing against a field from across the United States.

The ice dancing duo took home 1 st place at the Upper Great Lakes competition in October and earned their spot at Nationals by winning the Juvenile dance title

"Mackenzie and I are   very excited to be competing at a National event," says Erwin, a freshman at Brookfield East.   "We are going to skate our best, but the main idea is to have a lot of fun."

Ryan Otto, 12 from Greenfield, Wisconsin placed 4 th in Juvenile mens at Upper Great lakes to qualify for Juvenile Mens Freestyle at the upcoming U.S. Junior Nationals.   Besides qualifying as an individual, Ryan and his sister Nicole, age 10, placed 3 rd at Upper Great lakes to qualify for Juvenile ice dancing at U.S. Junior Nationals.   The Ottos join Reid and Erwin as 2 of the 5 ice dance teams that qualified for Nationals by virtue of their fine Upper Great Lakes showings.

Reid and Erwin are members of the Wisconsin Figure Skating Club and the Otto's are members of the Kettle Moraine Figure Skating Club with both teams training daily at the Pettit Center with their coach Lisa Reid.
