Olympic Hall of Fame Coach Frank Carroll Coming To Pettit Center
MILWAUKEE--- August 14, 2007 --- The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S.
Olympic Training Site, will host Olympic Hall of Fame figure skating
coach
Frank Carroll August 15, 2007. Carroll will lead a daylong session for
figure skaters from around the Midwest.
Carroll has worked with some of the biggest names in figure skating.
His
students have included Michelle Kwan, Timothy Goebel, Linda Fratianne
and
Christopher Bowman. Among his current students, Carroll coaches Evan
Lysacek
who was the 2007 U.S. Champion.
Carroll was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1996.
In
1997 he became the first and only figure skating coach named U.S.
Olympic
Coach of the Year. Carroll was also named the Professional Skaters
Association (PSA) Coach of the Year in 1997, 2000 and 2001.
Just this past spring, Carroll received figure skating’s highest
coaching
honor when he was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame
during
the International Skating Union’s (ISU) World Championships in Tokyo,
Japan.
“We are very excited to introduce a coach of Frank’s caliber to area
figure
skaters,” said Executive Director Cindy Yomantas.
