Olympic Hall of Fame Coach Frank Carroll Coming To Pettit Center

MILWAUKEE--- August 14, 2007 --- The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Site, will host Olympic Hall of Fame figure skating coach Frank Carroll August 15, 2007. Carroll will lead a daylong session for figure skaters from around the Midwest.

Carroll has worked with some of the biggest names in figure skating. His students have included Michelle Kwan, Timothy Goebel, Linda Fratianne and Christopher Bowman. Among his current students, Carroll coaches Evan Lysacek who was the 2007 U.S. Champion.

Carroll was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1996. In 1997 he became the first and only figure skating coach named U.S. Olympic Coach of the Year. Carroll was also named the Professional Skaters Association (PSA) Coach of the Year in 1997, 2000 and 2001.

Just this past spring, Carroll received figure skating’s highest coaching honor when he was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame during the International Skating Union’s (ISU) World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

“We are very excited to introduce a coach of Frank’s caliber to area figure skaters,” said Executive Director Cindy Yomantas.
