It’s SNOWING at the Pettit Center COOL ZONE New Activities Compliment Fair Favorites

The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Site, will be the coolest place to be at this year’s Wisconsin State Fair.

The Pettit Center will feature several new activities along with Fair favorites. Some of the Pettit Center “Cool Zone” features include:

NEW! It’s Snowing – For the first time in Wisconsin State Fair history we’re predicting snow. Each hour from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. it will snow inside the Pettit Center.

NEW! Olympic Champions for Children – On August 12 the Pettit Center will host the Olympic Champions for Children 5K run, 2 Mile Walk and Skate-A-Thon. This fundraiser will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin and the Pettit Center.

Cream Puff Curling – Try your hand at the Wisconsin State Fair’s official sport! You’ll also get the chance to see some live curling matches on August 11, 12 and 13 that will include some of the area’s best curlers

Free Public Skating – Throughout the 2006 Fair, anyone with a Fair Admission can come and skate on the Pettit Center’s Olympic Oval free of charge. Come and cool off in the Pettit Center’s “Cool Zone.”

NEW! 3v3 Hockey Tournament – August 4, 5 and 6 area youth hockey teams will be vying for the coveted Cream Puff Cup.

Try Skating School – Each and everyday anyone can try the Pettit Center Skating School with mini-lessons from 1pm-3pm.

NEW! Wisconsin Gold – Get a quick education on the proud history of Wisconsin’s stake in the sport of speed skating with a special exhibit featuring information about some of the state’s finest athletes.
