Cool Camps at The Pettit Center
MILWAUKEE--- June 11, 2007 --- The Pettit National Ice Center will once
again feature skating camps for kids all summer long. Beginning June
11 the
Pettit Center will kick-off its camp season. This summer will include
some
past favorite camps, as well as some new offerings for 2007.
Skating Camp for Kids will commence each week of summer and is the
perfect
opportunity for both new and veteran skaters to get on the ice. Built
for
ages 6-12, the Skating Camp for Kids provides a multitude of camp
activities
and fun!
New for 2007 are the themed weeks of the Skating Camp for Kids:
·-Look Mom, I’m Curling (June 25) – the only camp in town where kids
can
throw stones (that’s curling stones) and not get in trouble.
-Shake and Skate (July 16) – a favorite of 2006, campers combine pom
pons
with skating. Badgerette Pom Pon instructors join the fun this week ·
-Need for Speed (August 13) – kids can learn how to speed skate in a
facility famous for producing Olympians and medal winners
Besides the Skating Camp themed weeks, campers can take part in outdoor
games and activities, Olympic-themed crafts and receive skating lessons
from
Pettit Skating School instructors.
Also returning for 2007 is the Rink Rats Hockey camp. This camp is
made for
the hockey player that yearns for playing time and skill development.
Rink
Rats scrimmage, take part in on-ice skill sessions and enjoy outside
activities.
