Student Instruction (Schools
on Ice)
Add ice skating to your school’s physical
education curriculum. The Pettit Center has successfully
launched the Schools On Ice program. Perfect for
Home School Students!
Students who participate in the Schools On Ice
program not only learn the fundamentals of skating,
but may also meet their Olympic role models. Many
long track speed skaters train in Milwaukee throughout
the year because the Pettit is one of two indoor
400-meter ovals in the United States.
The Schools On Ice improves motor skills:
-Agility
-Balance
-Speed
Schools On Ice also increases self-confidence.
Ice Skating calls for dedication, patience and
teaches students to never give up and keep trying
to become better. Students can improve their reading
and writing skills through class stories and related
activities. We can create a curriculum to fit
the individual needs of your students.
